How long does it take to get a notification in the event of power loss?
Your Gabfish device reacts in real time to power events. You will receive a notification within seconds of a power failure or restoration. If the device fails to send the notification on the first try (due to network congestion or failure for instance), it will retry within a few minutes.
Where is cellular coverage available for my Pynged device?
LTE Service is available in the US, Canada and Mexico. 3G Service is available worldwide. However, due to 3G being deprecated around the globe, a new worldwide (ex-north america) LTE device is being developed and will be available in 2023.
After losing power and Wi-Fi, how does Pynged know that power was restored?
Pynged Power is equipped with an internal battery that keeps it powered for multiple days through a power loss. Pynged Power also has standalone cellular connectivity. It doesn’t need a Wi-Fi connection to send out any notifications.
How do I monitor the device?
You monitor and control the device through a mobile app. The app lets you view current conditions, receive alerts, check location, and manage device settings remotely.
Do I need to be nearby to use it?
No. Because the device uses cellular connectivity, you can check status and receive alerts from virtually anywhere with app access.
What can I see in the mobile app?
The app can show power status, temperature, humidity, device location, cellular strength and battery levels. Additionally, it displays temperature, humidity and alert history. It can also allow you to change settings and alert thresholds.
Can the app send alerts?
Yes. You can receive alerts when conditions go outside your chosen limits, such as power loss, temperature spikes, humidity changes, or unexpected movement.
Can I customize my alert settings?
Yes. You can set your own thresholds and notification preferences in the mobile app so the device works the way you need it to.
Why is temperature monitoring important?
Temperature changes can warn you about risks such as equipment problems, cabin overheating, freezing conditions, or unsafe storage conditions.
Why does humidity monitoring matter?
Humidity monitoring can help detect conditions that may lead to mold, condensation, corrosion, or damage to interior spaces and sensitive equipment.
Does the device include GPS location tracking?
Yes. The device can report its location so you can confirm where your boat, RV, or equipment is located.
Do I need Wi-Fi for it to work?
No. The device uses cellular connectivity, so it does not depend on local Wi-Fi to send data and alerts.
